Certified ID
To get copies of identity documents certified:
- Present both the original and clear, readable copies of each identity document to the person certifying them – one identity document per page.
- Copies of identity documents that include photos must be colour copies.
For a document to be classed as a certified copy, the person certifying the ID must write the following on each copy:
Identity document with a photo
- “I have sighted the original version of this document and I have compared the photographic image with [your name] and confirm they appear to be the same person.”
- Their name
- Their occupation
- Their contact details
- Their signature
- The date
Identity document without a photo
- “I have sighted the original version of this document.”
- Their name
- Their occupation
- Their contact details
- Their signature
- The date
